Breanne "Coach Bre" Morton, Lead Coach & Program Director

Growing up at the base of Mt. Hood provided ample opportunity for daily skiing excursions with friends and family during Breanne's formative years.  Racing and skiing all corners of the mountain, in all elements, with a drive to learn and do it all made Coach Bre a passionate and committed coach, dedicated to providing training opportunities to all skiers who want to become racers and all racers who have a desire to improve.  Raised in club and local community racing programs with some of the finest coaches Mt. Hood has known, Bre was shown the importance of a supportive and inclusive learning environment where each racer received coaching regardless of ability; and, for each racer, a unique progression was created to develop their skill at their pace.

Coach Bre has carried forth this tradition of tailored and high-quality coaching for the individual athlete with a focus on not only race training, but the development of the racer mindset through sport psychology and discipline-specific agility and muscle strength and endurance conditioning.

Over close to three decades of alpine race coaching, Bre has accumulated experience at nearly all levels of racing with all age groups and abilities from USSS Mighty-mites (youth development) through Masters; high school race programs, U16-U21 FIS, Collegiate, FIS NorAm, and FIS World Cup racers.  Bre holds US Ski & Snowboard Association credentials in both coaching (L200) and officiating.

Bre still competes as a member of the US Alpine Masters National Ski Team and enjoys being the captain of her local back-to-back-to-back champion adult league team.  Bre is a highly accomplished racer and holds several National, regional, and state champion and podium titles and has been named Coach of the Year (1998 & 2002) by two respective boards.  Coach Bre holds the current Super G and GS US Alpine Masters National Title: 2022 (GS 2019, GS & SL 2018).

Jason "JayMo" Martin

Lifelong skier and ski racer, Coach JayMo joined BD Racing in 2021 to offer additional eyes, perspective and expertise to the BD program.  JayMo has coached at several levels as a USSS credentialed coached (L200), most notably within the Oregon Interscholastic Ski Racing Association which regulates and guides all high school ski racing in the state.

Julie Kehoe

Julie comes to BD by way of Detriot, MI where she coached at all levels from youth development, through high school ski racing and into FIS racing.  Julie, an elite-level racer herself, has enjoyed much success in her racing career, as well as high accolades as a USSS, FIS and high school coach.  Julie now chases the endless winter to the southern hemisphere in New Zealand and Australia as a long-time Master Boot Fitter for Master Fit and spends all the spare time she has on Mt. Hood with BD Racing exercising her coaching legs as a USSS credentialed coach (L200).

Talla Hamalainen

Talla is a Colorado native.  Living in Oregon at the base of Mt. Hood for the past 20 years, Talla is now the assistant coach for Sandy High School's ski team where her oldest daughter is a junior and team member and her youngest is an up-and-coming ski team member next season.

Rasied as a skier and ski racer, Talla trained under Aldo Radamuss (yes, River's father) and moved through the ranks as a USSA and FIS racer before attending Montana State University for both academics and ski racing.  Talla is an incredible addition to the BD team for her debth and breadth of knowledge going back decades.

Guest Coaches

Depending on demand and type and duration of specific clinics, BD Performance Racing draws from a small pool of vetted, professional coaches with whom we have coached alongside for many years.  When registering for sessions with BD, you can be confident in knowing that you will receive one-on-one coaching through small groups which rotate at appropriate intervals so you will gain maximum coaching exposure and perspective.  Our guest coaches will be matched with your racing ability and discipline.  If you're an experienced Masters racer looking to gain the edge in Super G, you will be matched with one of our speed series coaches with adult-coaching experience.  Rest assured that if registering your 12 year old, that same coach will not be the same match; rather, our U12-U14 coach will fill that niche.  Based upon availability, guest coaches will rotate.  If you have someone specific in mind, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with inquiries at any time.
